Major Goals of the Center

The main objective of the Microbiota Research Center is to provide a space or think tank for a group of researchers and scientists interested in microbiota issues in order to facilitate the interdisciplinary interactions. To achieve this goal, we plan to develop coordinated opportunities for technology applications (e.g., bioinformatics, 16srRNA gene based metagenomics, metabolomics), establish a forum for interdisciplinary lectures, seminar and workshop, introduce opportunities for students, trainees and junior faculty members to develop expertise in the microbiota field, and assist and obtain funds for large scale multidisciplinary research projects. However, we are only beginning to understand the impact of the microbiota on the human health.
